Well, with a combination of my return to normal life and the lack of family blogging anymore (thanks Lacey and Uncle Mike - the only ones still going!!) - I've decided to get back to this again.

My foot is healed for those who do not yet know...it was definitely an ordeal, but looking back...and even throughout the experience, I kept feeling like it had happened for a specific reason. Or maybe even several reasons. One I am sure of is that it brought me to the job I have now, which I absolutely love.

I am working at Philadelphia Insurance Companies - downtown. It is a commercial insurance company. Take a look at the website sometime...it really is an amazing company. Not at all like the typical mega-corporations that tend to run this country. So far I have been pleasantly surprised at all the people I have come in contact with, and really the entire feel of the company. From the way I am treated as an employee to the way Phly gives back to the community. I am an account representative which means I process a lot of requests that come in for submitting new accounts to be quoted and changes on existing accounts.

Wedding planning is going forward...after a bit of time off, I'm now in a rush to get save the date cards out! Also, during the 9 weeks I was out of commission, I got a lot of work done on our favors! I only have a few more to finish and then I can check one more thing off the list!

And now I must be going, but there's just a small bit of what's been going on with me in the last little while.

When it rains...

Last Saturday night Justin and I were just coming back home to my house from a party and a trip to the grocery store at about 9:45 pm. We were just getting our puppy out of his play pen area he stays while we're gone. Justin was on his way out to the garage while I was going to take Buster outside to go potty. I started jogging to the door to take him outside and he ran under my feet, so I went to side-step but rolled my foot and fell off my shoe. I let out what I learned later was a 'blood-curdling scream' as I fell to the floor. Our poor puppy ran to the corner and laid down with his tail between his legs. While my wonderful fiance ran to get pillows to elevate my leg, an ice pack, and three ibuprofen to try to ease my pain. I knew almost immediately that something was broken and I needed to go to the emergency room, so Justin carried me to the car and we were off to Alta View.

So, as it turns out my foot is pretty badly broken and I will be getting surgery on it either this Friday or next Tuesday. They'll either put in a screw or a couple wires to hook the bone back together. I'll be on crutches for at least 4 weeks, and this type of fracture typically takes 6 - 8 weeks to heal, so I'm out of commission for a while on this one! Feel free to stop by for a movie or something, anytime really, since I'll pretty much be here....I'm doped up on Lortab and its my right foot, so I can't even drive!

Really I'm lucky to have such wonderful family and friends who care so much about klutzy me! I love you all!

So a week ago Justin and I got back from our trip to California, which was awesome, by the way! The best part about it? While we were there, my mom, me and Justin's mom were able to have a girls day! We ended up going to a bridal boutique and I found my wedding dress!! I'm so excited. It is absolutely beautiful and I can't wait to get it! I ordered it and it should be here by the beginning of November, if all goes well! Unfortunately I can't post a picture because Justin does occasionally look at this blog, but if you want to see a picture of it, just email me and I'll send you the link to it! Its an Alfred Angelo gown, and just gorgeous!

Also, we've booked our photographer (as of this morning)! Check out the website at www.pointedigital.com. I'm really excited about them doing our wedding! They'll be doing both a video as well as the photos! How fun. We will be having our engagements taken a week from Saturday, so it should be great!

Well, that's pretty much all for now, I think, and I'll post some pictures of things as soon as I can!

The date is set!!

Hello again! I've decided I'm going to try to keep people updated on my wedding planning through this for now, so hopefully that will help me to write more often! Justin and I set the date, we'll be getting married June 6, 2009! Our celebration will be at Millcreek Inn, which we are super excited about. It's about 3 miles up Millcreek Canyon, and absolutely beautiful up there!

Updates

So, I know I haven't written in an insane amount of time, but here is a short list of major things that have happened since:
  • We had a wonderful Thanksgiving with 3 (count 'em) 3 families!
  • I got my wisdom teeth out
  • Had an amazing Christmas with all 3 (again, just to clarify: my mom's family, my dad and step-mother, and Justin's family) families! It was a very busy, but very wonderful celebration.
  • Partied at New Years' with two of our best friends...drunk rockband is very funny!
  • Made it through January (my least favorite month of the year)
  • Celebrated at Stephanie and Michael's wedding - so beautiful, and I'm so happy for them!
  • Got baptized to signify and celebrate my relationship with my savior, Jesus Christ!!!
  • Just got a promotion at work, and I'm starting my new job on Monday! YAY! (I'll be the new Extended Day Program Coordinator for Newman Elementary.  My boss is leaving for nursing school, and I'll miss her, but I'm very excited about this opportunity!)
  • Made it through my last semester as an undergraduate, and I GRADUATE TOMORROW!!!!!!
Well, I know that super short, but it will have to do for tonight. I hope someone is still out there who cares to read this stuff!
