I don't know if you connect with this in reference to anything specific, but for me... I feel like I always care too much about people. And I end up being hurt either because I love them more than they love me, or because I watch them in pain and can't do anything about it. I don't know that I'd really want to change that, though. It's hard, but loving, regardless of circumstances or outcome, makes everything so much richer in the end, I think.
